It’s one day until the new year and I’m still not seeing any of that “New Year, New Me” bull or people posting “2021 will be my year”. After this 2020…all we can say is “what a decade 2020 has been🤦🏽♀️” Let’s do a re-c….dammit stop throwing rotten fruit at me!
Okay, okay we all know the massive shitshow we’ve experienced
- Australia going up in flames
*Trump nearly causing World War Three
*A virus that no one took seriously at first shutting down the whole world, killing thousands of people and forcing us to stay indoors for months at a time even those living in abject poverty and squatter camps.
- Black Panther (Chadwick) died
- Kobe Bryant and his daughter were killed in a crash.
*Millions lost their jobs due to coronavirus
I just watched Logan Paul’s song and honestly everything he sang about 2020 was just way too relatable. Literally “2020 what’s your fucking problem?”
Even though this has been a tough and unpredictable year I can’t help but admit that on a personal level I have grown as a person. This year made me realize that I have to pursue my dreams and plan my life well because a global pandemic could shut down the world at any time and if I don’t plan my life to have at least one year’s worth of savings to cover costs of living I may be screwed. If I don’t pursue my dreams someone else will over work me in order to make them money. Of course subconsciously I knew these things but it was really thrown in my face during this entire pandemic.
We all stopped assuming that life will go on as it is and learned the power of living in the present moment and making the most of it now while also making sure that those are good decisions. Hedonists learned that they need to make a stable foundation for themselves in order to enjoy their hedonism because the world won’t always be stable enough to support them and people who don’t enjoy life enough realized that they need to enjoy life more.
I don’t really know what I wanted to say in this entry anymore except that I’m opening the door to 2021 with an angel in front of me. I suppose there’s going to be more all night prayers rather than New Year’s parties taking place for the first time ever…at least in Africa.
